BELLOTA IS COMMITTED TO YOUNG TALENT AND HAS HIRED 23 PEOPLE UNDER THE AGE OF 35 IN RECENT YEARS.

06 November, 2024Aware of the need to attract qualified young talent to cover the generational replacement and the demographic shortage, the company Bellota Herramientas has been working for several years on this task of attracting and retaining young talent. In recent years, the company has incorporated 23 people under the age of 35 into its workforce. Today, 36 people under the age of 35 work at Bellota Herramientas, which represents 24% of the workforce (152 people).

But the challenge of attracting talent starts earlier. In the last five years, Bellota Herramientas has taken on 31 young people as trainees in the company. In fact, the company also maintains its commitment to youth employment with the AECOC Association (Association of Manufacturers and Consumers), among other actions. This collaboration is a pact to promote contact between companies, universities and vocational training centres to train and attract young talent, to which they have adhered since January 2021. The alliance includes, among other activities, the Academic Awards to reward the best final degree projects, the possibility for university or vocational training students to carry out their final degree projects or internships in member companies, etc. Beyond the Pact with AECOC, Bellota Herramientas looks for this young talent in nearby centres, who are on work experience or doing their final degree project, to train them internally and incorporate young talent.

High demand and low supply

Bellota Herramientas has been working for several years on the generational replacement of the workforce, and in recent years it has rejuvenated its workforce. As for the need for profiles or to attract talent, as Juanjo Salegui explains, ‘industry is becoming increasingly automated, robotised, and it is difficult to find people specialised in areas such as robotics, programming and automation’. In short, there is a lot of demand and little supply. Hence the need to look for young talent in technical areas, mainly engineers in electronics and design engineering, but also in Business Administration and Management and Marketing, and in the case of workshops, the selection of graduates in intermediate and higher degrees in automation and robotics is a priority.
